The author is a retired ass. professor in Public Health, who all her life has been working within health care and prevention in Sweden. Retired, she returned to Denmark and has been there living near nature, wood, and sea, in a province in Denmark, writing poetry.
The writing form is inspired of her former scientific work within Epidemiology, and the inspiration comes from life memories, former university teaching, and love for nature.
This deeply personal collection of poems invites readers into the quiet, meaningful moments of an ordinary life—where memory, nature, relationships, and reflection gently intertwine. Through vivid storytelling and heartfelt honesty, the author explores themes of love, ageing, loneliness, resilience, and the simple beauty found in everyday experiences. From encounters with strangers to cherished family bonds, from the wisdom of growing older to the comfort of animals and nature, each poem offers a glimpse into life’s emotional landscape. There is humour, sorrow, tenderness, and insight—woven together with a calm, observant voice that speaks directly to the reader’s heart. Richly complemented by the author’s own illustrations, this collection is not only a literary journey but also a visual one. It is a celebration of life as it is lived—imperfect, thoughtful, and deeply human—reminding us that wisdom often lies in the smallest moments.
Women's Lives by Ellis Janzon tells the quiet, powerful story of two women-Nelly and Mina-through a series of poems that cross generations. Their voices rise from the past, speaking of hardship, strength, and choices made in silence.
