The Rabbit who Flew

Kyra Richmond

Kyra Richmond brings to life an uplifting woodland adventure about Festa the squirrel, Forage the rat, and a brave little rabbit who finds herself stuck high in the branches. What begins as a tumble of autumn leaves turns into a challenge that tests their fears, hopes, and hearts.

Through trial, mistakes, and teamwork, they discover that courage isn't about being fearless, but about daring to try, and that even a messy parachute can carry someone safely home.

Told with warmth and gentle humour, this story captures the wobbles of perfectionism, the sting of self-doubt, and the quiet triumph of friendship. Children will delight in the playful rhymes, while parents will treasure the thoughtful way emotions are woven in. A story to share, to comfort, and to keep close.

About Author

Kyra Richmond

Kyra Richmond is a mother, and lover of nature. She has always enjoyed the magic of children’s books and the way words can conjure up such incredible worlds. In her profession as a child and adolescent counsellor she often finds herself reaching for books with characters that reflect the worries and issues of her young clients. She is inspired by how a story well told can change a child’s thinking and redirect them towards more positive mindsets. Perfectionism and fear of trying are familiar themes in the therapy room which is what led her to write her own story. She hopes that her woodland tale and the characters in it will offer a different perspective to young children—one that will encourage them to be kind and compassionate to everyone, but first and foremost to themselves.
