Marina Paliants is a children’s author, illustrator, and educator with a passion for emotional storytelling and watercolor art. She lives in Denmark, where nature, silence, and the changing northern skies inspire much of her work. With a background in English language teaching, marketing, design, and child psychology, Marina brings a unique depth to her stories—blending poetic language, psychological insight, and visual sensitivity. Her books are known for their strong characters, tender themes, and hand-drawn illustrations. Animals often play a central role in her tales, many of which are inspired by her real-life dogs and love for wildlife.

Pia: The Swan Heart of the Lake is her second fully illustrated fairy tale, following the publication of Sheriff Haruka: The Guardian of the Ocean. She is currently working on sequels and new stories that explore courage, compassion, and the wonder of the natural world.
