Long Way Home

Brad L Hallock

In the summer of 1943, a crippled B-17 bomber falls from the skies over occupied Belgium, scattering its surviving crew deep behind enemy lines. Hunted by German forces, the airmen struggle to survive long enough to find their way home. But the war-scarred woods where they seek refuge conceal secrets far older than the Second World War. There, the airmen begin encountering mysterious children whose fleeting appearances seem somehow bound to a long-forgotten tragedy buried beneath the scars of an earlier war. As the encounters become increasingly unsettling, the men find themselves confronting questions they cannot begin to answer. Long Way Home is a haunting and deeply human story of courage, sacrifice, friendship, and survival amid the devastation of war. Combining historical realism, aerial combat, resistance warfare, and supernatural mystery, it is a poignant reminder of war’s enduring cost—and the bonds that can transcend even death.
