Mrs W A Sorgedrager-Buner was there at the end of the war with eleven thousand women and children. Only half of those survived the Hell. Mrs W A Sorgedrager-Buner wrote her memories down so people could understand what happened and how anyone could have survived the brutal treatment they endured. There in the camp staying ‘Alive and Healthy' was of utmost importance The camp changed the lives of everyone who was imprisoned there. Through sheer determination and strength Mrs. W A Sorgedrager-Buner lived to a hundred and two years old, she died 28th February 2010. She quoted, there is no secret I am just lucky, but it is her mind and spirit and her positive outlook that kept her alive.
