The author is trying to defend Nature against mankind. The extinction of animals, plants, fungi, are so far underway, he must, he says, name and shame the culprits, as his enemies. Forests and oceans are under siege. The author has lived and worked in many countries, and found people everywhere to be good hearted, adaptable, creative, and yet narcissistic in the sense that they put mankind first, and consume the planet for reasons they can invariably justify. The great religions of the Earth, and science itself are no exceptions. The author writes in hope of change.
