With degrees in physics and mathematics, Rod Somerville has now worked as a science educator for over forty years. Beginning as an obsession with science fiction at a young age, his interest morphed into a life actively involved in the public education of science wherever he has gone, showing the universe to anyone around Australia who would stop and listen. After establishing and running a public observatory for several years at Uluru in Central Australia, he returned to the east coast when he still resides in country NSW.
