As a musician and music teacher, writing a book had never been the author's ambition. However, during 2020 and amidst the pandemic and after the recent death of his father, writing a book became an unexpected focus and challenge. His mother was Norwegian and as a teenager had experienced the German invasion, so a story of a young girl during WW2 seemed appropriate. This is his first book and although fictional, much of what is written is based on real-life events.
In World War II: The Fateful Meeting in Balestrand, P.W.S. Henley weaves a gripping tale of love and survival against the backdrop of Nazi-occupied Norway. Nineteen-year-old Kristina Neilsen's world is turned upside down when she witnesses the brutality of war firsthand.
