P J Riddell was awarded a master’s degree in irrigation engineering in 1976 and spent much of his early career working as an irrigation specialist in the world’s less-developed regions and emerging markets, but more recently however, as a researcher and adviser on hydro-diplomacy, water resource policy and sector financing. As such, he’s been regularly published, but despite a long-held dream of writing fiction, his output so far has been limited to technical journals and chapters in reference books. This is his first step towards fulfilment of that dream.
P J lives in France with his partner Leigh Ann, their two cats, Aria and Booji and Gustavo, their young Estrela Mountain Dog.
Rum, Reindeer and the Princess Bandit is a mischievous, magical romp through the Elvish Kingdom of Elfinstan, where rum sparkles with golden magic, piglets wear sashes, and names like Oddbodkins Colleywobble and Tinsel Glitterpants are perfectly normal. When a batch of failed jelly unexpectedly turns into the best rum ever brewed, the elves of Wonky Bottom find themselves caught in a swirl of festivals, goblin plots, mysterious merchants, and a runaway princess who is more trouble than Santa’s entire naughty list. From bubbling laboratories and raucous taverns to daring thefts and goblin courts, this is a story brimming with humour, adventure and heart. Perfect for readers young and old who enjoy whimsical fantasy, outrageous characters and the occasional very greasy piglet.
