Nick Trowborough was born in the south east of England in the early 1960s. He attended a comprehensive school and studied Avionic Engineering at London University.
He joined the British Army in 1985 and spent several years as an army officer stationed in West Germany, at a time when hundreds of thousands of soldiers from the Western nations and Russian squared off from one another in the form of a cold war.
He has lived in Australia and New Zealand, where he currently lives in the Wairarapa region, noted for wine and wide-open spaces.
In early June 2006, schoolboy Angus Lamett was at a crossroads in his life. He'd just finished his final school exam. He was a good student, with a talent for languages, being widely believed by his tutors that he'd do exceptionally well in the final exams.
