About

Miles Hoagy

Miles Butcher, M.A. Nicknamed Hoagy, is a retired tutor counselor and professional musician. A New Zealander who years ago, adopted Scotland as his home. Miles has been blind for most of his life.

His grandson, Ruari, lost interest in reading. To rekindle the interest, Miles got down to business and attempted to write an action-packed story, involving Ruari and his pet dog Oscar.

Ru liked it and took it to school to read to his class. Seated on a stool, he read, surrounded by the class sitting crossed legged on the floor. The teacher videoed the scene and sent it to his mum. “All good fun!”
