Michael Short, originally from New York, lives in San Diego, is married, and has two children. He attended the University of California, San Diego, receiving a degree in sociology and a minor in history. He has worked extensively with the homeless and poor and is an advocate for addressing the issues facing society today. His writing touches on the themes of destiny, redemption, and the power of love to transform people's lives. His interests include book collecting and reading classical literature. This is his first novel. He is currently working on a prequel to Cool Girl.
