About

Lisa Crispin

Lisa Crispin was introduced to the works of Agatha Christie at 15, beginning her enduring passion for crime novels and TV dramas, both fiction and non-fiction. Despite not having finished high school, Lisa enrolled at university at the age of 57 and undertook a Bachelor of Criminology degree, graduating in 2023. With the encouragement of those around her, Lisa decided to write a novel, using the knowledge gained through her studies and lived experience on the north coast of NSW. Hence, Janus: Beginnings and Endings, was brought to life.

Two faces. One life. And a truth too dangerous to ignore. Karly Horton thought she knew the man she married. Dave Bush was charming and attentive, a police officer sworn to protect. But behind closed doors, another side emerges, controlling, calculating, and impossible to escape. What begins as love slowly becomes something far more sinister. Isolated in a remote town, stripped of her independence, and trapped under constant surveillance, Karly finds herself questioning everything—her memories, her choices, even her own sanity. Meanwhile, Detective Senior Constable Dani Kelly has seen this pattern before. Too many times. As she navigates the brutal realities of domestic violence cases, one question lingers—how do you save someone who doesn’t yet realize they need saving?
