I am a school governor, nursery nurse and I am halfway through a full time foundation degree in Early Years. Whilst working with children across various settings I noticed that generally children with special educational needs or those from disadvantaged backgrounds seem to have a lower confidence in their capabilities and lower aspirations. I am dyslexic and had to have readers and a computer for my exams at school and decided that I would publish a couple of my stories to show children I work with that nothing should hold them back.
