Poet Jerry Lovelady resides in Beaumont, Texas, USA. His life experiences have made him concerned with problems of social inequality, class struggle, and racial disparity, the world over. He is cautiously aware of the rise of populist, conservative political leaders and the threat they pose to true democracy. The sometime serious tone of Bearing the Weight of Our Wishes... is no accident, and not to be taken lightly. Lovelady has published two marvelous books of poetry: Other Worlds, in Other Words (2021) and Grief and Her Three Sisters (2022). His work will be admired by generations yet to come.
Jerry Lovelady delivers a reflective and intriguing collection of poems that includes an assortment of thoughtful and elaborative themes ranging from the richness of the world and poverty of humanity to sacred musings about God.
