Henry is originally from Somerset, with a particular love of traditional folk tales, folk songs and the unusual. Henry studied English at the University of York and has been published in many collections and tries to perform as often as possible. He has been seen teaching literature in various locations, trying his best to bring back the love of language and wordcraft that seems lacking in this ever more technological society. He has been known to get excited over etymology over a pint of cider, or to have heated debates on the motivations of Shakespeare characters or long dead writers.
In The Moon and the Sea by Henry Arthur Thorpe, the author draws inspiration from his roots in Somerset, where his love for traditional folk tales and songs shines through in the collection of poems, reimagined folk stories and mystery tales.
