Emma Parker is a writer from the south coast of England with a lifelong passion for reading and storytelling. She studied psychology at university, where she developed an interest in forensics and spent an insightful gap year working alongside a forensic psychiatrist. Her debut novel, EWALLA, was inspired by her enduring interest in Buddhism, reincarnation, and the concept of the immortal soul as explored in the Bhagavad-Gita. Emma now lives in the vibrant seaside town of Cascais, Portugal, with her husband and two sons.
Rayla Jenkins has always felt safest in the forest outside Drake Falls, quiet, wild, familiar, the one place her mind feels entirely her own. But lately, even the forest doesn’t feel safe. She keeps losing time, waking up in places with no memory of how she got there, with the constant, prickling sense that someone’s watching her. She's starting to wonder if she’s losing her mind. Then she meets Larkin: dark, enigmatic, unlike anyone she’s ever met. He’s one half of an ancient, immortal civilisation called the Ewalla, with a power as terrifying as it is impossible to understand. And he knows something about Rayla that she doesn’t know about herself. As her own strange abilities grow into something no one has ever seen before, Rayla is pulled into a war that has been building since the beginning of time. A man known only as Father is hunting her, and the closer he gets, the more terrifying the truth becomes. Because Rayla’s existence may be the only thing standing between humanity and its end. Torn between the boy she's loved her whole life and the one who has turned her world upside down, Rayla has to decide how far she'll go to protect the people she loves, and whether she can survive becoming the person she was born to be.
