In April 2024, David Howarth set out from Fort William to walk the 400kms of Britain's most challenging and remote long distance trail, to Cape Wrath. His journey began in the pouring rain and fifteen days later he arrived at Cape Wrath in bright sunshine. This is the story of that journey, not just of walking the Cape Wrath Trail but also the early life influences that got him to the start line. The main narrative covers the journey itself: the periods of self-doubt, difficulties encountered, the people he met, the scenery he experiences and what it means to him. Although not a guidebook, would be CWT walkers may find the daily statistics (distance, ascent, time), itinerary and equipment list helpful.
