Claire Brown was born in Old Windsor and migrated to New Zealand when she was five years old with her family. Apart from a couple of extended periods living in Australia, Claire has lived most of her life in the South island of New Zealand. She began writing this and subsequent stories about Maisey whilst living on the Gold Coast in Queensland when her children were growing up. A self-confessed crazy cat lady, Claire currently lives in the beautiful Banks Peninsula harbour village of Diamond Harbour with her equally beautiful ginger cat, Weasley.
