Annika Gray

Annika is a lover of all things that farm life has brought to her. Here she is a

mother, wife, teacher, and a minder of dogs, sheep, chickens, horses,

two guinea pigs, and a beautiful herd of cattle. ‘Mona’ is born from all of

these loves. Mona was written to encourage children to embrace farm life,

be brave, and to create mindful connections even in the face of adversity.

I have a friend called Mona, she's kind and wild and free. I have a friend called Mona, she lives on the farm with me. I have a friend called Mona, she's our life blood you see. Mona has always been important to the family farm. When faced with a period of drought and a changing environment Mona speaks to the family and urges them to keep on loving their land. Mona's connection to the family blossoms and so do the lands the family works hard to nurture. Mona is a powerful message about connection and mindfulness in the face of adversity.
