Annalisa Ordell always wanted to be a writer when she grew up.
But then she never quite grew up.
She is a Wiltshire‑based author and mum of two.
She began writing in her teens, later turning to children’s literature when her own children were very young.
She loves creating books that explain big things to small people in ways that spark curiosity and comfort.
When she isn’t writing, she works as a teaching assistant and enjoys photography, open‑mic poetry, and disentangling her kittens from the cat tree.
A child's bedroom door is home to a shy, magical being known as the Hoogaloo, who takes them on a fantastic journey through a jelly doorway into Hoogaloo Land — a place full of singing creatures, candy-floss trees and entertaining surprises around every corner. To find the magic that lies within, let's open the book and explore Hoogaloo Land!
