Robert Parsons has spent many years researching aspects of religious belief. He has also taught religion to many thousands of young people. He has always been cautious to ensure that his students knew he was teaching an idea put forward by a particular religion and not necessarily something in which he personally believed. One of his previous books was related to the disgusting history of abuse (both sexual and physical) in Church institutions.
