This is a lighthearted mystery that takes place in a small Nova Scotia town, which is nestled along ‎the shore of an historic tidal river. It is a tale of love and deceit, friendship and folly, and political ‎intrigue and ambition. ‎
As in Rapsey's other novels, it is as much about the delightful characters in it as it is about the ‎mystery. As diverse as they are, they are mostly loveable despite their human flaws.‎
Although the book addresses some serious issues, it is written in an easy and whimsical style and ‎contains all the essential elements of a compelling murder mystery. ‎
