ABOUT STEWART WHITE

For more than thirty-seven years, Stewart White presented Look East on BBC 1 in the Eastern Counties.
For most of that time, he was on air five nights a week, every week. With more than 8,000 editions of Look East under his belt, it represents one of the longest uninterrupted runs presenting the same programme in British television history. During that time, he interviewed members of the royal family, prime ministers and some of the biggest stars of stage, screen and popular music.
When he retired in 2021, he kept it a secret from everybody, including staff at the BBC, until he announced it live on air at the end his final programme.
He lives in South Norfolk with his wife, Jane. He has three children and seven grandchildren.
