ABOUT C.L.ROBERTS


C. L. Roberts lives in Charente Maritime, France. She studied Shakespeare and his contemporaries as a postgraduate at Oxford University for the Master of Philosophy and saw his plays at Stratford on Avon while studying for the Master of Arts in writing at Warwick University. Her love of Drama started at school and led to three years studying Art and Drama at Cheshire College of Education. She has travelled widely including several years in Western Australia where she got a First-Class Honours Degree in English Literature. The four-year course introduced her to her second passion, the Ancient Greeks and Classical Art and Archaeology. She has taught English, Classics and Art in Warrington, Cheshire, Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds, Taunton, Somerset and in Gloucester as well as helping to set up and run a trout farm near Cheltenham.  Her first novel, ‘Betrayal’ is set in Italy. Her collection of short stories, ’The Menagerie’ celebrates the lives of ordinary people at revelatory moments in their lives. Her novel about a refugee from Eritrea ‘The Boy, the Sand and the Flower ‘will be released at the end of May 2025.
