Beatrice is a young and defiant aristocratic girl in 18th century England. Her father has arranged for her to marry an elderly Earl Staunton. Beatrice is devastated and as her last act of freedom and rebellion she decides to embark on a life of crime with her devoted cousin, Christopher and her devoted mare, Asta. A chain of adventures ensue taking Beatrice from England to America. But will she hang for her crimes? Or will she be made to marry the Earl?
