Third Party Sellers
Hi all, we frequently get asked questions about third-party sellers such as eBay and Amazon and their roles in selling books published by ourselves.
Unfortunately, we have no control over third-party sellers. Retailers such as eBay list almost all books published. They do this by listing the book before they have purchased it, charging more than the RRP, and once someone purchases the book, they sell it to make a profit. Publishers have reported these listings for years but they never seem to go away.
As it is a third party, they do have to buy a copy from somewhere, meaning every book sold through a third party, you will receive a royalty for, somewhere down the line.
For example, if they purchase the book through our website or Waterstones – you will be paid royalties on this sale, however, there are no royalties due when a third party then sells that book on.
