Neill F. Maclaine was born in 1963 in Highams Park in North East London.
Educated at The Plume School in Maldon, Essex and at the Chelmer Institute of Higher Education in Chelmsford, Essex, he went on to have a successful career in Construction Management and now holds the position of Director in a highly regarded Property Management company based in London. He is a direct descendant of Rev. Archibald Maclaine D.D. (1722-1804), James Maclaine's elder brother.
