Neill F. Maclaine was born in 1963 in Highams Park in North East London.
Educated at The Plume School in Maldon, Essex and at the Chelmer Institute of Higher Education in Chelmsford, Essex, he went on to have a successful career in Construction Management and now holds the position of Director in a highly regarded Property Management company based in London. Since 2000 he has been a Freeman of The City of London and since 2004, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building. He is a member of both the Clan Maclaine of Lochbuie and Clan Maclean Association.
Neill lives with his family in the village of Tiptree in Essex, famous for its strawberry jam making, where he devotes as much of his spare time as possible-usually late at night when everyone else has turned-in-to his genealogical researches and writings.
He is a direct descendant of Rev. Archibald Maclaine D.D. (1722-1804), James Maclaine's elder brother.
