SABLE GRANTHAM IN BELGRAVIA: Part Two In Pursuit of Power

Roderick Archer

Sable was single and very ambitious.
As a civil servant in the Diplomatic Service in London she hoped her promotion to a position in one of the European countries would soon happen.
Hugh Mannston was the only man in her life now but it was a closely guarded secret only known to family members.
Hugh was also smitten with Sable. Her short black hair, always perfectly in place, was part of what made her so attractive to him. That and her red lipstick.
Having spent a brief holiday with him in Gibraltar she hoped to repeat the experience again, but when? They rarely had any time together due to their work commitments and she was becoming more and more frustrated that their customary kiss goodbye on the back seat of his Jaguar never led any further.
But when she met the dashing colonel her guard went down and with it the release of sexual tension that had been simmering inside her for so long.
