These poems show how deeply imbedded Stock is in the natural world. The work is unique, passionate and intimate; accessible, yet intelligent. His subject matter is universal.
The book offers an exquisite buffet for a reader's diet. It buzzes with creativity. Stock extrapolates an emotional energy line by line. His use of personification is superb. There is humour and playfulness. Don't bother with a bookmark; here is poetry that will tempt you to read in one sweep.

ABOUT TOM STOCK

Tom Stock has self-published two poetry chapbooks; in addition, he writes and publishes essays. He is a naturalist, and much of his writing reflects his long association with nature. He writes a column for a statewide quarterly journal as well as a column in a local newspaper. A retired science teacher and collage artist, he is poet-in-residence at an organic farm and a prairie restoration site, and has had over a hundred poems published locally. He is particularly proud of a poetry workshop he ran at the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association on Long Island.
