Jeff and Anne Peters live a quiet life as befits two middle class, middle-aged people. Good jobs, nice car, private tennis club membership. Their son, David, has just got a job teaching English in Shanghai and has a new girlfriend, Chynna. Then the Peters' idyllic world is turned upside down with the brutal murder of David and Chynna by the three Lee brothers. Shanghai's best detective, DI Chow, is certain the Lees are guilty but cannot find the crucial evidence. As Jeff's world falls apart, and his son's killers seem to have got away with it, he decides to take matters into his own hands.
