In a junkyard, Macklyn Farrago encounters the strange Mr. Abbas who has created a most extraordinary car as a symbol for mankind. But it does not work. Together they are propelled across America on a quest to find a man who may hold the answers to their questions, and inadvertently trigger a semi-religious, semi-millennial, global craze. It's all fueled and manipulated by the grasping media billionaire Sebastian El Dorado and his mysterious assistant, Mr. Ott.
