Hank and Frank Learn to Cancel I Can't

Danelle Chapman

Hank and Frank Learn to Cancel "I can't" was inspired by Henry learning to push past failure, hard things, and/or not being good at something. Henry fell into a mindset of "I can't" when he felt defeat, frustration, and overwhelm. This led to Henry giving up on himself and spiraling into a negative headspace. It is important for young people to acknowledge their limits, and that they can learn to do this in more encouraging and empowering ways than simply saying "I can't." And sometimes, many times, they can push past those limits and learn that they can do more than they thought they ever could.

ABOUT DANELLE CHAPMAN

Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with
a private practice in Parker, CO. I have worked with
children, adults, and parents in a School Counselor
or Therapist role since 2004. My go to resource has
always been picture books when working with children
and parents in my practice or with my son. Seeing
the characters in books wrestle with a difficult social
emotional moment helps myself, my son, and my
clients feel less alone and gives us the motivation and
tools to work through the situations. My hope is these
books are resources to parents and children.
