Valentina and her younger brother, Santiago, are en route to a better life in the US, leaving everything behind them in their native Mexico. Their parents have been killed by a Mexican cartel, leaving them as orphans, but they are now desperate to build their lives on the American side of the border. They face a dangerous journey trying to avoid border patrol officers but Valentina is intent on starting a new life with her brother and is willing to risk everything for the dream of America.
