Accomplice to Murder

Mercedes Martyn

Accomplice to Murder by Mercedes Martyn is a gripping tale of love, secrets, and survival set ‎against the backdrop of early 20th-century England and the tumultuous years of World War II. ‎The story centres on the Lytton family and their ancestral estate, Lytton Park, where the walls ‎hold dark secrets and the echoes of a forbidden romance that began in 1903 Cornwall.‎

As war rages, the lives of several characters intertwine: Joyce, a young evacuee, adjusts to life ‎away from London; Molly, grappling with her adoption, embarks on a search for her biological ‎family; and a mysterious figure shadows Lord Oliver. The discovery of an old diary and a ‎corpse in the estate's crypt unearths hidden truths and leads to a deeper exploration of the Lytton ‎family's complex history.‎

Richly woven with the fears and hopes of wartime, this novel captures the resilience of its ‎characters as they navigate love, loss, and the unraveling of long-buried mysteries, bringing a ‎powerful sense of closure to their quests for identity and belonging.‎
