High Spy is a tense spy thriller about the adventures of the indomitable Matt Sands, an Englishman not yet past his prime, and with a taste for fine food, drink and women. Whilst taking a European holiday, skiing in the Swiss Alps and looking for action of a different kind, his confidence and bravado cause him to stumble upon and become caught up in an international kidnap plot involving murderous professional villains and a beautiful and very capable CIA agent. He discovers some useful skills of his own, as danger abounds while he fights for his life and that of others, attempting to do the right thing but, of course, also get the girl. Set in the 1960s, it contains all the atmosphere and style of that bygone era.

Despite the disadvantages of an impoverished childhood during the great depression of the 1930s and teenage years during the six years of WW2, Ray overcame his lack of education and dyslexia to live a full and eventful life.
His many achievements and adventures hold a message for everyone, no matter what their beginnings.
His philosophy has always been to have your dream and then work towards it. Ray maintains that there are twenty-four hours in everyone's day, whoever and wherever you are, so that is a starting point that we all share.
He had the advantage of a long and happy marriage with his beloved wife, Jill, who supported him throughout their sixty-two years together.
