A semi-autobiographical account of how a working lad who left school in 1958 with no educational qualifications became a Psychiatric Nurse, and went on to some senior roles within the NHS.
This is a light-hearted account of the progress of the main character through his three years training, and also the strong camaraderie which existed in the mental hospitals in the early 1960s. This, very sadly, seems to have largely been demolished at the same time as the hospitals! But - read on!!!
Be prepared to laugh frequently, and also, more rarely, to cry!
