J D Samuel

Julia Samuel was brought up in Swanley, Kent and attended the local secondary modern school, leaving at fifteen. She worked for twenty years in various posts as a local government officer in Kent and London. Working in the housing department she dealt directly with the public giving housing advice and helping the homeless.
She was finally employed for ten years as the office manager and company secretary of a Scandinavian owned shipping company, retiring at sixty-two.
