 | | Tony Harbourne was born in London in 1947. He moved to Kent at the age of six and became fascinated with the abundance of insect life to be found in its countryside..
During the 1960s, as an aspiring young draughtsman, he and his flatmate, Ian, spent Sunday afternoons racing small hand-carved boats across Parliament Hill's sailing pond. He began to imagine what would happen if his boat could be sailed by a miniature crew, having to face the uncertainties of nature and the unwanted attention of predatory insects. It was from those afternoons that the seeds for his creation of Bozadir and the Green Empire were sown.
He and his family now live in South-east London, where he still practises the ancient art of draughtsmanship whenever possible. |
